The mission of KVM College’s Curriculum Committee is to provide guidance, advocacy and oversight for KVM’s curriculum by ensuring that the curriculum is academically sound, comprehensive and responsible to the evolving needs of the community so that the college’s mission, goals and educational delivery to students are well served.
Objectives:
- Ensure that the design and structure of a curriculum meet the established curricular goals and objectives.
- Monitor all aspects of the curriculum.
- Ensure adequate coverage of all competencies throughout the curriculum.
- Evaluate all aspects of the curriculum periodically.
- Plan a calendar or events for the courses.
- Prepare a course wise rotation plan for the academic year as per the curriculum.
- Ensure the provision of adequate instructional resources.
- Identify curriculum problems, find solutions and take corrective measures.
- Obtain and review feedback from various sources of the curriculum and instructional programs such as students, alumini and stakeholders.
- Facilitate the teaching-learning process.
- Identify strategies to improve creativity and academic excellence.
- Enhance progressive growth of the institution by adding and expanding courses and programs offered by the college.
Functions
- Design the curriculum based on the trends and societal needs.
- Ensure that the syllabus of all programs comply with the guidelines of the Indian Pharmacy council.
- Recommend programme changes and revisions for approval by the board of studies.
- Ensure that faculty members are provided with development opportunities.
- Develop and implement regular ongoing evaluation and quality improvement process for better student outcome.
- Review the progress of the student on regular basis and communicate to the parents.
- Provide a forum for innovation in teaching learning and evaluation.
- Conduct meetings regularly and responds to issues and opportunities related to curricula and learning pathways.
- Schedule commemoration of vital days.
- Monitoring the execution of the academic plan.
- Improving the knowledge skill and attitude through IQAC activities.
