Purpose:
The Grievance Committee is a standing committee of KVMCP . The Grievance Committee functions to ensure that the provisions of the KVMCP Collective Agreements are maintained and that all members of the Association are treated according to the principles of natural justice. It is the duty of the Grievance Committee and its members to provide oversight to ensure fair representation to all KVMCP students in the grievance process

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Grievance Committee shall consider all grievances submitted in writing by any student regarding student support, their grievance and any other alleged injustice done to the student at the Institute.
- The Grievance Committee shall have access to all files or otherwise relevant to the individual’s grievance, subject to approval of Competent Authority.
- The Committee shall study the petition and after looking into the relevant documents discuss with those concerned and submit its recommendations and report to the Director as expeditiously as possible, but in any case within three months of the date of petition.
- In case of any difficulty, the Grievance Committee shall have discussion with the Director/Chairman.
- Any dead lock shall be resolved by joint meeting of the Director and the Presiding Officer of the Grievance Committee.
- The final settlement of any grievance shall be made within a reasonable period (normally not exceeding one month) after the recommendations are submitted to the Director/Chairman by the Grievance Committee.
Standard Operating Procedure of Grievance Redressal Committee
The members of the committee shall be appointed by the principal as and when needed. The same will be documented by the coordinator.
Grievance Redressal Committee shall meet once in four month or depending on the need and report the progress to the principal. The date, time and venue will be decided and communicate to the members and special invitees by the coordinator.
Notice for the meeting shall be given at least 7 days prior to the meeting. Agenda of the meeting shall be finalized by the coordinator. Members can communicate topics of discussion to the coordinator prior to the meeting.
The Quorum for meetings is 1/3 of members eligible to attend. Special invitees may be called for meeting as required by the coordinator.
Reporting Procedure
The minutes of meetings of the Committee will be circulated to all its members within 10 days of the meeting for necessary approval before forwarding it to the Principal
