The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) was introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India in 2016 to prevent, prohibit, and redress sexual harassment of women students and employees in higher education institutions. The ICC was established under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, which mandates that every workplace must have an ICC. The Act also requires that the committee be headed by a woman and have at least 50% female members.
At KVMCP, the ICC has been active since 2022, ensuring that any issues raised by women teachers or students are given the highest priority.
