IQAC

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in Bengaluru, recommends every accredited institution to establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a quality sustenance measure. The IQAC aims to develop a system for continuous improvement in the institution’s performance, fostering a sense of belonging and participation.

Vision of the IQAC

To promote quality culture as the prime concern of Higher Education Institutions through institutionalizing and internalizing all the quality-enhancing and sustaining initiatives taken with internal and external support.

Objectives

The primary aim of the IQAC is:

  • To develop a mechanism to promote conscious, consistent and catalytic action plans to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote institutional quality enhancement and sustenance through the internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of the best practices.

Functions

Functions of the IQAC at NLSIU include:

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks;
  • Setting parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all the stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all the stakeholders;
  • Organization of intra- and inter-institutional workshops and seminars on quality- related themes and promotion of quality circles;
  • Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of the best practices;
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing institutional quality;
  • Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits along with their follow-up activities; and
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per the guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

Terms of Reference-  Internal Quality Assurance Cell (KVMCP-IQAC)

Purpose: To promotes measures towards quality enhancement through internalizing of best practices in academic, academic-related and administrative processes. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is the committee designed to ensure the total educational experience it offers is of highest quality at KVM College of Pharmacy (KVMCP). The term ‘quality’ implies the highest standards and relevance of academic programmes, research and services of the faculty.

MEMBERSHIP:

  1. Chairperson: Head of the Institution
  2. Teachers to represent all level (Three to eight)
  3. One member from the Management
  4. Few Senior administrative officers
  5. One nominee each from local society, Students and Alumni
  6. One nominee each from Employers /Industrialists/Stakeholders
  7. One of the senior teachers as the coordinator/Director of the IQAC

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IQAC of KVM College of Pharmacy shall commit to establish and improve quality through appropriate mechanisms.

  1. The IQAC shall work in association with other coordinating committees in the college for programme reviews and coordinating the preparation of action plan in response to the programme review (PR) recommendations and the monitoring of the progress of the implementation of the action plan.
  2. The IQAC shall submit recommendations to uplift the status of the faculty based on stakeholder feedbacks, public survey statistics and other information.
  3. IQAC shall ensure the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.
  4. IQAC shall cooperate with the other committees in reviewing and monitoring the quality of academic programmes, research and services provided by faculties.
  5. IQAC shall Optimize and integrate modern methods of teaching and learning.
  6. IQAC establishes its own internal policies and procedures for quality assurance including, curriculum revision,  continuous improvement in programme delivery, student assessment,  student and peer evaluation of teaching,  monitoring key performance indicators such as research output, develop operational procedures with respect to governance and management, 
  7. IQAC shall submit recommendations to the Coordinating Committees and the Board of Management to continuously improve the quality of the college.
  8. IQAC shall Prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines
