Pharmaceutical chemistry is the study of drugs, and it involves drug development. This includes drug discovery, delivery, absorption, metabolism, and more. So an in-depth knowledge is imparting to our pharmacy graduates. Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was established in the year 2010. Pharmaceutical chemistry department deals with the basic inorganic chemistry, organic and advance organic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, natural product chemistry and analytical chemistry. It also has the fabrication for the advanced level of drug design and development of novel drug molecules by docking studies. So the course has structured to learn basics to advanced level with hands on training for the synthesis, purification, characterization including the analysis of the drug content by various techniques. The course is designed to prepare the students for a career in hospital as well as pharmaceutical industry. Our training leads our students to pursue higher education also. The department has 5 well maintained laboratories to perform the experiments and a well maintained central instrumentation room. Our experienced staffs are our strength which help students to build up their career.
